Santa Monica Civic Center Multipurpose Sports Field

The Civic Center Multipurpose Sports Field, scheduled for completion in June 2020, is a 2.5-acre complex that will allow the adjacent high school and community members of all ages to play soccer, rugby and lacrosse. It will also accommodate numerous cultural events sponsored annually by the city. The synthetic turf field will be encircled by an 8-foot high perimeter fence and utilize an advanced water drainage system. The fencing will be screened by a landscape buffer and the field will be illuminated for use at night. Simpson & Simpson is providing construction management services on the project that will also include artistic and educational components that commemorate the history of the Belmar neighborhood, an historic African-American community.
