The Lennox Library and Constituent Service Center recently opened with a re-dedication celebration of nearly one thousand local community residents on April 11, 2014. Located in the community of Lennox, just south of Los Angeles, the library was originally built in 1948 and is the oldest library in Los Angeles County. Simpson & Simpson served as Project/Construction Manager for $8.4 million renovation that doubled the library in size to over 30,000 square feet. The new library was configured to contain separate study and computer areas for children, teens and adults. The Constituent Service Center provides a place for local residents to have access to County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas’ staff and the support of various County Departments including Regional Planning, Consumer Affairs and Community & Senior Services. The adjoining Sheriff’s facility was also renovated to include 10,000 square feet of office space and a new 2,500 square-foot locker room to assist Sheriff’s operations in providing community support.
