South Los Angeles Sheriff Station Grand Opening
Posted November 10, 2010
Hundreds of local community members turned out to celebrate the grand opening of the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station on Nov. 6, 2010. LA County Sheriff Lee Baca and County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas were on hand to lead the formal dedication of the new $38 million state-of-the-art law enforcement facility. At roughly 36,000 square feet, the new station is more than double the size of the Lennox Station that it replaces. In addition to an enhanced computer-aided dispatch center, thirty-eight bed detention cell and helicopter landing pad, the station boasts other amenities including a continuing education learning center, vehicle maintenance building and a community conference room.
Simpson & Simpson Management Consulting served as construction manager for the Los Angeles Department of Public Works who was responsible for providing the facility.
