Bob Hope Patriotic Hall renovation in high gear
Posted October 20, 2011
Owned by the County of Los Angeles and managed by the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Bob Hope Patriotic Hall is the home to military memorabilia, artifacts and documents from every American war. The historic 10-story building which was built in 1926 is undergoing a $45 million renovation with construction work proceeding simultaneously on all floors. Listed on the State of California’s Register of Historic Places, the Romanesque-style features and finishes of the building will be restored to their original state while the building’s mechanical and electrical systems, gymnasium, restrooms, conference rooms and kitchen are upgraded. Simpson & Simpson is providing construction support services for the owner on this LEED Silver project that is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2012.
