The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works has awarded a contract to CCTF Project Controls Specialists, a Joint Venture of Simpson & Simpson, Hill International and D. Pickett & Associates, to provide Project Controls services for their $2-billion Consolidated Correctional Treatment Facility (CCTF). The CCTF is a secure medical treatment facility within the confines of an existing correctional facility and is the first of its kind in the US. The project involves demolition of existing correctional buildings and construction of a new 3,885-bed inmate treatment building totaling 2 million square feet. At completion, the CCTF will consist of a new OSHPD Level 4 correctional treatment center, new administration building, new parking structures, and a new central plant. The project is expected to take eight years to design and construct with a goal to achieve LEED Silver certification.
